Salina, Kans. -- J.R. Claeys, Republican candidate for Kansas Secretary of State, announced his support today of Kansas Veterans and the Veteran Voting Support Act (H.R. 6625). The legislation will make access to absentee ballots easier for America's Veterans as well as allow for nonpartisan groups and state and local election officials to assist Veterans in Department of Veterans Affairs facilities.

"Our Veterans have made great sacrifice for our country," said J.R. Claeys. "Nothing should stand between them and the ballot box."

The bipartisan bill allows for voter registration efforts as well. It also requires the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to make absentee ballots available to eligible voters on request and assist with completing ballots in all VA facilities.
