"I'm listening to Kansan's concerns about the economy and the state of our elections," said Claeys. "I plan to cut red tape for businesses and run free and fair elections for all Kansans as Secretary of State. I'm taking that message to the voters."

As the CEO of a national business association, Claeys advocated for reducing the regulatory and paperwork burden placed on small businesses.

"The Secretary of State can have an immediate and direct impact on the time a small business is required to spend dealing with the government," said Claeys. "I will make sure my office allows businesses to grow."

Claeys recently released a plan to secure the electoral process in Kansas with reforms to the registration process and a Voter ID program. He has also reaffirmed his commitment to fight all forms of voter fraud.

"Across the country we are seeing attempts at voter fraud, whether it's false registrations, double voting or simply throwing away the registration cards of a particular party," said Claeys. "My first priority as Secretary of State will be to keep our vote secure and free from fraud."
